Residents of Ward 8 Guruve Rural District Council have endorsed McDonald Kunatsa, the aspiring
candidate, as their next representative.
Most residents of Ward 8 are showing their support for the aspiring ZANU PF candidate, Kunatsa,
ahead of other candidates for the councillor's position.
The confirmation of Kunatsa came out at a recent funeral at Chiwiro Village in Shayabvudzi.
The Village Head, who is a ZANU PF Shayabvudzi District member, urged members to vote for
Kunatsa during the party’s primary elections.
The Village Head said Kunatsa was a tried and tested cadre. His utterance received thunderous
cheers from most of mourners gathered for the funeral.
The candidature of Cde Kunatsa was also confirmed by other several people at the funeral. Kunatsa
is an extension worker with the Department of Arex in the ward.
Ward 8 has two ZANU PF districts, Shayabvudzi and Chitangezuva. Kunatsa is from Chitangezuva
party district, where he also enjoys much support.
The current councillor, Mutahwarira will not contest in the coming elections as he has decided to go
on retirement due to age. Four other aspirants have shown interest in the ward. All the four are
from Chimbumu area.
One of the aspirants is P Chasi, who is said to enjoy the support of the District Co-ordinating
Committee. Chasi has allegedly been seen moving around the ward with the DCC chairperson,
Chifamba.
People interviewed, said Chasi was not their favourite, a fact confirmed by the security sector in the
