GWERU — Promising gospel musician Tryagain Susan Takayidza recently released her second album titled Forever Faithful.
In an interview with The Times Arts and Entertainment, the Gutu based gospel artist said that the album is packed with six tracks and was produced in Gweru by Dj Khule at GM Records.
”I started working on this new album in January this year and I took my time to write the songs so that they come out special and entertaining to my fans,” she said.
The 32-year-old gospel singer said that the new album holds future gospel hit songs such as Ndinomuda, Nyasha and the title track Forever Faithful.
Takayidza said she draws her inspiration from her twin brother who is also a gospel musician.
”Before I released my first album titled Tinzvere Mweya, I used to sing under the mentorship of my bother as a backing vocalist,” said Takayidza.
The gospel musician also chronicled some of the challenges that she faces in her life as a musician.
”As female artists in a male dominated industry, we usually face problems such as criticism by men, we are looked down upon and we are taken as second options, therefore it affects our potential to excel at the same capacity as men in this industry.
”I also face stigmatisation due to albinism and also pressure since I have a lot of responsibilities as a mother and wife, therefore I am limited from doing my musical work as I would wish,” she said.
Takayidza pointed out that the album is now available on various social media platforms and she will be touring around Zimbabwe performing if all goes well.
The gospel musician said fans are appreciating her songs and supporting her music which is pushing her to continue releasing more music.
She encouraged other upcoming artists not to give up on their dreams, citing that patience is the key to success in the music industry.
