Harare, (New Ziana) – President Emmerson Mnangagwa began his month-long annual vacation on Tuesday, and will spend the holiday period within the country, the Office of the President and Cabinet has announced.

In a statement, Deputy Chief Secretary for Presidential Communications, Mr George Charamba, said Vice Presidents Constantino Chiwenga and Kembo Mohadi will take turns to act in the position of Head of State.

Vice President Kembo Mohadi will act as President from December 23 to December 31, 2025. Thereafter, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga will assume the acting role from January 1 to January 13, 2026.

Vice President Mohadi will then resume acting responsibilities from January 14 until President Mnangagwa returns to work in the early part of February 2026.

President Mnangagwa’s annual vacation traditionally allows the Head of State to rest while remaining available for national duties if required.

The Office of the President and Cabinet assured the nation that Government business will continue uninterrupted under the stewardship of the two Vice Presidents.
