MVURWI police foiled the burial of a nine-year-old murder victim at Forrester B Farm by
her killer father last Thursday.
Inspector Milton Mundembe, the provincial police spokesperson, said they received a
tip-off from one of the killer father’s neighbours and reacted.
He identified the killer father as Tinashe John.
Narrating the circumstances, he said on July 10, Tinashe John assaulted the girl with a
wooden stick and a piece of wire all over her body until she started complaining of chest
pains. The assault came after the girl messed herself.
On July 18, he again assaulted her after she had messed herself.
He used a 30cm iron rod to beat her up all over her body until she was swollen and
bleeding.
He then took her into the bathing room and bathed her and washed her clothes that
were stained with blood.
The girl was in pain until the following morning around when she died while in the
family’s dining room.
Tinashe John liaised with, one Gody, who then transported the child’s corpse in a
scotch cart to a secluded place within the farm and tried to bury her.
Tinashe John then emphasised to his four wives the need to keep the abuse under
wraps as he went to bury the daughter.
However, there was one brave woman among them who informed a neighbour, who
then made a swift call to Mvurwi police. The police found Tinashe John digging his
daughter’s grave and arrested him.
