Harare, (New Ziana) – Palestinian ambassador to Zimbabwe Tamer Almassri has condemned the ongoing attacks on Gaza by Israeli forces, which have resulted in thousands of deaths and injuries.
In a statement on Thursday, Almassri said Palestinians were demanding an end to the war.
“Ambassador Tamer Almassri strongly condemns the ongoing and relentless bombardment of Gaza by Israeli forces, which has tragically resulted in the deaths of at least 51 Palestinians, including six innocent children and several police officers. This horrendous violence is a continued violation of the established ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
“Ambassador Almassri reiterates that the people in Gaza deserve more than a pause in violence, they deserve a genuine, permanent ceasefire. We demand an immediate end to this genocidal war, a total cessation of ceasefire violations, and a definitive end to the occupation,” he said.
To date, the death toll attributed to Israeli aggression has soared to an alarming 71 795 Palestinians killed and 171 551 injured since the onset of the assault in October 2023.
“Shockingly, since the ceasefire was ostensibly put into effect on October 11, 2025, there has been a further increase in casualties, with 523 individuals killed and 1 433 injuries recorded,” Almassri said.
He urged the international community to move beyond rhetoric to ensure the protection of Palestinian lives, intervene, hold violators accountable, and work collaboratively towards sustainable peace in the region.
