BINDURA Municipality Town Clerk, Evelyn Madziire, swore in all the 12 Bindura
Municipality elected councillors on Thursday.
In addition, she also swore in four other women councillors under the 30 percent
women’s quota – two from Zanu PF and two others from CCC.
The ceremony took place in the Chamber at Town House.
Returning councillor, former mayor Brian Kembo gave both his oath of office and
loyalty in Shona and was the only one who used vernacular.
The new council comprises 16 councillors, 12 duly elected and four under the
women’s quota.
Seven of these councillors are females with men making up the rest.
Zanu PF has three duly elected councillors in council and two women under the
women’s quota.
