ZVISHAVANE — A 22-year-old man died of injuries sustained in a road accident and police have
launched a manhunt for the driver who disappeared after the crash on a road linking Masase and
Mpesi Business Centre in Zvishavane.
Midlands police spokesperson Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko said last Sunday at 5:30pm, Tamuka
Zhou was driving a white Nissan Atlas truck from Masase to Mpesi Business Centre with five
passengers on board.
On approaching Nyororo Bridge near Mpesi Business Centre, the driver failed to negotiate a curve
resulting in the vehicle veering off the road and overturned.
Zhou disappeared after the accident.
The injured were referred to Masase Mission Hospital where one passenger Elvin Zhou (22) of
Kuvengwa village died upon admission.
The other four passengers were transferred to Gwanda Provincial Hospital for further management.
ZRP Zvishavane Traffic is investigating the case and they are appealing for any information that may
lead to the arrest of Zhou.
The vehicle was towed to the vehicle examination department in Zvishavane for inspection.
Insp. Mahoko urged motorists to observe traffic rules and exercise extra caution when on the
wheels.
