HARARE – Abel Muteji, a Chiredzi-born former Chapungu and Young Warriors player, is currently hospitalised at Parirenyatwa Hospital after being transferred from Chiredzi.
His situation has sparked an urgent appeal for financial and material support from the football community.
Muteji, who played as a defender for the Young Warriors Under-23 and had notable spells at Mkwasine FC, Chiredzi United, and the Gweru-based Air Force of Zimbabwe side Chapungu FC, is now enduring a challenging period as he battles an undisclosed health condition.
Previously, Muteji appealed for financial assistance after suffering a severe leg injury in a separate incident, which required surgery and the insertion of metal implants.
Demonstrating solidarity, former Players and Coaches 4ED chairman Balon Chiseko and committee member Brenna Msiska recently visited Muteji at Parirenyatwa Hospital to offer their support. After the visit, Chiseko made a public appeal on Muteji’s behalf, urging well-wishers and supporters to assist with his medical expenses.
