Harare (New Ziana) – Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda, has retired, President Emmerson Mnangagwa said on Tuesday.
Speaking ahead of Tuesday’s Cabinet meeting, President Mnangagwa said he had appointed Dr Martin Rushwaya as the new Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet.
Until now, Dr Rushwaya was deputy chief secretary.
Dr Sibanda served in the post for several years, having taken over from the late Dr Charles Utete. Before that, he was deputy chief secretary to the President and Cabinet in the First Republic.
Tuesday’s cabinet meeting is the first after last month’s general elections in which President Mnangagwa won a second term in office.
