Harare- One of Zimbabwe’s most influential faith leaders, Bishop Dr Master Coach Aderino Nyabanga, has declared 2026 the “Year of Rehoboth,” calling on Zimbabweans to embrace a season of spiritual enlargement, peace and national prosperity.
In a stirring New Year’s address delivered on December 31, 2025, Bishop Nyabanga drew inspiration from Genesis 26, describing Rehoboth as a divine season of “broad places” where contention ceases, barriers fall and new opportunities open for growth and breakthrough. He said Zimbabwe, having endured years of testing, was entering a phase of fruitfulness and purpose anchored in faith and collective effort.
Bishop Nyabanga, founder of God’s Generals International Fraternity, Legacy Builders Global Hub, Daybreak Bible Institute and Daybreak International Ministries, blended spiritual reflection with a strong national development message. He praised the Government’s development thrust under President Emmerson Mnangagwa, highlighting calls for economic stability, national unity, peace and rural development. He also commended Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s emphasis on discipline, resilience and youth empowerment.
The bishop urged citizens to support national economic initiatives, including the ZiG currency, which he described as “greatly appreciated,” encouraging Zimbabweans to embrace their own currency as a catalyst for growth and confidence in the economy.
Beyond rhetoric, Bishop Nyabanga pointed to practical acts of compassion. In December 2024, his charity foundation provided food, clothing and stationery to more than 300 underprivileged people in Harare, including orphans, widows and persons with disabilities, demonstrating what he described as faith expressed through action.
His prophetic declaration for 2026 cut across all sectors of society. For individuals, he spoke of open doors, restored identity and recognition of talents. Families, he said, would experience healing and strengthened parental authority, while churches were called to rise as agents of peace and justice. He urged Government to foster unity and inclusive frameworks that protect every citizen, and predicted expansion in business through increased investment, flourishing enterprises and growing entrepreneurship.
Bishop Nyabanga challenged entrepreneurs to take practical steps early in the year, including setting clear financial goals within the first 10 days of January, diversifying income streams and forming strategic partnerships locally and internationally.
A strong advocate of church–state collaboration, Bishop Nyabanga said faith institutions must be partners in national development. He called on churches to entrench values of hard work, honesty and peace to support Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030 agenda and improve livelihoods.
His influence has also been recognised beyond the pulpit. In 2025, Bishop Nyabanga was named “Coach of the Decade,” reflecting his impact as a mentor and thought leader through educational and motivational programmes that reach audiences in Zimbabwe and abroad.
To help individuals and communities maximise the “Rehoboth” season, he outlined a six-point framework focusing on goal-setting, disciplined planning, resilience, partnerships, investment in education and the integration of faith with practical action. “Faith without works is dead. Planning without prayer is directionless,” he said.
As Zimbabwe steps into 2026, Bishop Nyabanga’s “Year of Rehoboth” declaration offers a call for unity, expansion and shared responsibility. Urging citizens to “build Zimbabwe brick by brick with excellence, unity, peace and wisdom,” he said the season ahead demands collective effort from Government, church, business and communities to unlock unopposed growth and shared prosperity.
