Bulawayo, (New Ziana)-The Bulawayo High Court has issued a warrant of arrest for a 64-year-old man who allegedly fatally struck his wife with a hoe after she denied him his conjugal rights.
Ndabayezulu Ncube, from Nsimbi village in Matabeleland South province, was scheduled to appear before Bulawayo High Court Judge Ngoni Nduna to face murder charges but failed to show up, prompting the court to issue the warrant.
The State alleges that Ncube, who was 54 at the time of the crime in 2017, fatally assaulted his 45-year-old wife, Nokuthula Khumalo, in a fit of rage.
According to court records, the tragic incident occurred when the couple retired to bed in their hut and Ncube allegedly initiated sexual advances, which Khumalo declined, citing exhaustion.
The situation escalated when Khumalo elbowed Ncube after he tried to embrace her and in a rage, he reportedly slapped her multiple times.
The altercation turned into a fist fight resulting in Ncube grabbing a hoe and struck Khumalo twice in the face, inflicting fatal injuries.
Ncube surrendered himself to the police after the fatal attack.
