Evil woman film gets Kwekwe actors on the limelight

KWEKWE – A local film, Evil woman, which was produced by Kwekwe based cast has left many
people craving for more content following its release on YouTube last week.
Some of the actors are now considered as influential people in the community in a short space of
time.
In an interview, the film director Garikayi Matava said the 2023 film was written by Kudakwashe
Mukaro and stars Delight Chinheya who is known in the drama as Chihera.
Other actors include Wesley Chikwira (Baba Chido), Alleta Mhunhura (Mai Zviko) and Victor
Chidende who is known as Osama in the film.
Matava said the crew partnered with Mataba Media and also incorporated a group of youths from a
local church Spring of Living Waters Ministries International.
“We ventured into the partnership with the aim of keeping the youths occupied and off the drug
infested streets as well as educating the masses through the film,'' he said.
Matava said the film is a 10 episode drama series which is about a woman (Chihera) who bewitches
her husband (Baba Chido) in order to gain control of the family assets and also mistreats her tenants
which makes the title of the film Evil Woman.
''On the film we were basically trying to teach the community to choose and practice good things
over evil things because good always prevail over evil at the end of it all,'' said Matava.
He added that the drama also carries other characters such as Tricia (Mai Mfundisi), Tanaka Zimuswa
(Chido), Definate Koffi (Prophet), Tanaka Learnmore Tembo (Mapanzure), Constance Tapfuma (Mai
Mapanzure), Nigel Ndlovu (Sbuda) and Tinotenda Muchingami (Manando).
