Teenage girl murders brother (13)

CHIRUMANZU – A 17-year-old girl is up for murder after she allegedly fatally assaulted her 13-year-
old stepbrother under unclear circumstances.
The girl, who can not be named, had made a report to the police that her brother had committed
suicide by hanging himself on a tree.
However, the police suspect foul play and are treating the case as murder with the chief suspect
being the 17-year-old step sister.
It is alleged that on January 29 and at Guchutu Village under Chief Chirumanzu, the 17-year-old girl.
made a report to the police that her brother (named) had hanged himself.
Police attended the scene and observed that the boy was hanging on a shrub with the knees bent
and the feet landing on the ground. He was tied loosely with a string and was bleeding from the
mouth.
“These observations suggested a murder case as opposed to sudden death by hanging and the 17-
year-old step sister has since been picked up by the police as a suspect,” said the police.
Dube’s body was taken to Mvuma District Hospital for post-mortem.
