SOME1377 students from various departments at Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo polytechnic last week
graduated during the institution’s 16th graduation ceremony.
The Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education Innovation Science and Technology Professor Amon
Murwira, was the guest of honour, who capped the graduates and urged them fully utilise
indigenous resources found in the region.
"I encourage all graduates to fully utilise indigenous resources found in Matabeleland South to
produce a variety of products such as mats, drinks and livestock feed for the modernisation of the
province and country at large," said Professor Murwira.
He added that the world was looking forward to seeing more Zimbabwean brands occupying shelves
through products from Matabeleland South.
"The world is looking forward to see more brands from Zimbabwe occupying shelves through
products produced by graduates of Matabeleland South," he added.
Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Principal, Dr Ngoni Moyo, encouraged the graduates to apply the
knowledge and skills they obtained from the institution to take care of themselves and others in
their communities.
"I urge you all graduates to use the knowledge and skills that you acquired from this institution to
take care of yourselves and others in your communities," she said.
The Graduation ran under the theme "Promoting industrialization through skills training.”
